Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking an experienced AI Architect to lead an AI-driven platform for financial analysis and advisory. You will own end-to-end architecture across data ingestion, ontology/graph design, and DSL-driven AI outputs.

You will define governance, collaborate with engineering and compliance, and drive orchestration of AI agents, LLM gateways, and streaming features. Strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in AI Engineering or related role.
• Strong hands-on Python development including FastAPI, asyncio, pytest, type hints, monorepo.
• Experience designing AI agent orchestration systems, including LLM gateways, tool gateways, streaming architectures (SSE and WebSocket), and agent-to-platform contracts.
• Understanding of responsible AI governance, covering capability boundaries, workflows, auditability and regulatory mapping.
• Experience with AWS cloud platforms in production environments.
• Rigorous testing practices (unit, integration, UAT/BDD) with code coverage ≥90%.
• Proficiency with Cursor, MCP servers, prompt engineering, and CLI tools (GitLab, Jira).
• Observability with OpenTelemetry, Grafana or Phoenix, and structured logging.
• Excellent written and spoken English (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Own and drive end-to-end architecture from data ingestion to AI-powered outputs.
• Define and enforce contracts across data assets, ontology/graph structures, DSL, LLM gateway, tool gateway, and user experience.
• Design systems with governance, ADR/RFC documentation, and traceable justifications.
• Build and deliver hands-on solutions, iterating while maintaining architectural quality.
• Ensure layers include verification mechanisms: formal validation where applicable, runtime checks, auditability.
• Collaborate with engineering, compliance, and client stakeholders to meet regulatory, technical, and business requirements.
• Maintain defensible architecture aligned with responsible AI principles, including transparency and traceability.
