Job summary

EPAM Systems invites a Senior AI Data Software Engineer to join the Data Competency Center. The role focuses on diverse data ingestion, processing and AI-enabled development environments across multiple domains, including financial and health care.

You will work with Python, Spark/Databricks and cloud services, applying best practices in data governance and security. The ideal candidate brings 4+ years in data software engineering, strong SQL/NoSQL skills, and excellent communication in English

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in software development with Data Software Engineering technologies.
• Advanced knowledge of Python.
• Proficient with Spark and Databricks.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP.
• Experience with AI development tools (Claude Code, Github Copilot, Cursor).
• Strong understanding of data file formats like JSON, Parquet, Avro.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases including Cassandra and MongoDB.
• Proficiency in data warehousing solutions, ETL processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical field.
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Implement data ingestion from diverse sources using RDBMS, REST API, flat files, Streams, Time series data, SAP.
• Research and utilize Data Software Engineering technologies for data ingestion.
• Process and transform data using Spark, Databricks and cloud services.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts and IT professionals.
• Provide thought leadership on Data Software Engineering best practices and trends.
• Maintain integrity and security of data sources and platforms.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade data systems and applications.
