Remitly Kraków is seeking a Director of Engineering for Finance Engineering to lead the transformation of our financial systems toward a data-centric, scalable architecture. You will guide architecture, drive a multi-year roadmap, and ensure reliability and compliance as we partner with global finance leaders.

You will mentor managers and engineers, shape hiring across geographies, and balance business needs with technical bets in a fintech environment that values innovation and trust.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of technical leadership experience across multiple teams.
• Experience building and operating financial, data, or large distributed systems.
• Ability to engage senior/staff engineers and peers.
• Experience with workforce planning across geographies.
• Comfort articulating technical positions to executives and balancing business/tech bets.
• Vision for AI-assisted finance systems and agent-enabled architecture.
• Strong security and compliance mindset in fintech/payments.

Responsibilities

• Own the multi-year Finance Engineering strategy and translate needs into a roadmap.
• Evolve technology and architecture roadmap, including build-vs-buy decisions.
• Maintain reliability, correctness, and compliance bar for systems of record.
• Mentor and grow managers and senior engineers; lead by example.
• Design the geographic workforce plan and drive hiring and succession.
