Job summary

Remitly is hiring a Software Development Engineer II in Krakow to build scalable backend services and APIs for money movement. You will integrate with external banking and payment partners, ensure production health, and own quality in a fast-paced, globally distributed team.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, design robust solutions, and contribute to documentation, reviews, and on-call rotations. The role emphasizes ownership and impact from day one in a diverse environment.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java/Kotlin or Go and design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Integrate with external banking and payment partners.
• Collaborate across time zones to meet business needs.
• Develop technical documentation and testing plans.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in interviews.
• Support on-call rotations and ensure regulatory compliance.
