Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Global Supplier Development Engineer to drive supplier qualification, audits, and improvement actions across the supply base. You will oversee parts approvals and supplier performance evaluations, leveraging APQP/PPAP and ISO standards to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.

You will travel internationally to conduct assessments, interact with cross-functional teams, and support sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in quality assurance and supplier development in metal fabrication or similar industries.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and external auditor certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification through SAP Ariba assessments and global on-site audits.
• Implement improvement actions at suppliers based on audit findings and process gaps.
• Oversee global parts approval to ensure materials meet requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance indicators and drive annual evaluations.
• Develop action plans for supplier performance recovery with suppliers.
• Lead root cause analysis for escalated non-conformities with suppliers.
• Drive continuous improvement of supplier management processes globally.
• Support sustainability initiatives aligning with material and supplier goals.
