Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Global Supplier Development Engineer focused on Oils, Chemicals and Plastics to ensure high-quality, cost-effective components for transformer applications.

You will lead supplier assessments, audits, and development plans, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with global category teams to strengthen supplier partnerships and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Materials Engineering, Polymer Science or Chemistry.
• 10+ years of quality assurance or supplier development in chemicals
• Experience with APQP/PPAP, P-FMEA and SPC in chemical production
• Willingness to travel internationally for supplier audits

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification through SAP Ariba assessments and global on-site audits.
• Implement improvement actions at suppliers based on audit findings.
• Oversee global material approval to meet technical requirements for critical materials.
• Monitor supplier performance indices and drive annual supplier evaluations.
• Develop action plans for supplier performance recovery and root cause analysis.
