Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Global Supplier Development Engineer to lead critical-to-quality supplier qualification, audits, and improvement initiatives across materials like gaskets and insulation. You will drive APQP/PPAP processes, supplier performance evaluations, and corrective actions on a global scale.

With 10+ years in supplier quality, you will oversee production-process assessments, implement continuous improvement, and travel internationally for supplier audits while collaborating

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering with chemical, process, materials, mechanical or polymer focus.
• 10+ years in supplier development and supplier quality management.
• Knowledge of chemicals, gaskets and insulation materials production and QA standards.
• Experience with production process assessment.
• Strong quality tools knowledge: Kaizen, DMAIC, A3, 8D, 5Why.
• APQP/PPAP, P-FMEA, Process Control Plan and SPC expertise.
• Excellent communication for international collaboration and travel.
• Willingness to travel internationally for audits and assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification via SAP Ariba assessments and global on-site audits.
• Implement improvement actions at suppliers based on audits and process gaps.
• Oversee global parts approval to meet technical/operational specs for critical materials.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive annual evaluation processes.
• Develop action plans for performance recovery with suppliers.
• Resolve escalated non-conformities through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Drive global improvements in supplier management processes and best practices.
• Lead SCM tool/project initiatives in Supplier Quality and Development.
• Act as project lead for single/sole source eliminations in key categories.
