Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Global Supplier Development Engineer focused on critical to quality categories such as gaskets, insulation materials and chemicals. You will ensure supplier quality, implement proactive QA processes, and drive improvements across a global supplier base.

The role requires 10+ years in supplier development, deep knowledge of materials used in transformer components, and strong ability to coordinate audits and supplier performance reviews across international teams.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with a strong technical background.
• 10+ years in supplier development and supplier quality management.
• Deep knowledge of chemicals, gaskets or insulation materials production.
• Experience with production process assessment and quality tools.
• Expertise in APQP/PPAP, P-FMEA, SPC and inspection processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification via SAP Ariba assessments and audits.
• Drive improvements based on audit findings and process gaps.
• Oversee global parts approval to meet RTS requirements in transformers.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive annual evaluations.
• Develop action plans for supplier recovery and corrective actions.
• Lead root-cause analyses for non-conformities.
• Advance global supplier management and best practices.
• Lead SCM tool improvements in Supplier Quality and Development.
• Act as project lead for single/sole source eliminations.
