Job summary

Biogen, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations in the assigned region, ensuring timely and accurate delivery and compliance. You will lead a team, manage vendor relationships, and drive process standardization across payroll activities.

You will collaborate with Finance and HR, guide performance, and participate in strategic projects to improve efficiency and accuracy while supporting Biogen’s global payroll objectives and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• BSc/BA in HR, Finance, or related field; MS/MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and compliance regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with payroll systems and vendor management.
• Ability to drive process improvement and standardization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate payroll for the assigned region.
• Manage workload and add backups for seamless payroll execution.
• Drive issue resolution and manage escalations per policies and regulations.
• Partner with Finance and HR affiliate leads on performance and dialogue.
• Manage payroll vendor relationships for best-in-class payroll and time-tracking.
• Own processes for the region, driving standardization and improvements.
• Collaborate with HR and IT to ensure system readiness and optimization.
• Act as Project Manager for regional projects.
• Provide support to team members, coaching and performance management.
• Foster cross-team collaboration and monitor wellbeing.
• Execute and drive projects and improvement initiatives as per leadership guidelines.
