Job summary

Biogen in Warsaw seeks a Governance and Quality Lead to strengthen payroll governance across US and international operations. You will drive governance routines, manage risks, and lead remediation efforts with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness.

You will collaborate with HR, Finance, Tax, Legal, IT and Internal Audit to standardize processes, RACIs, SOPs and control documentation, while balancing local country requirements with global standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 8+ years in payroll, HR ops, internal controls, or related areas.
• Experience with multi-country payroll environments.
• Understanding of payroll processing, reconciliations, and vendor services.
• Experience designing/improving control frameworks, SOPs, RACIs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Workday, ADP, UKG, Dayforce, or ServiceNow.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll quality controls and governance routines (pre-/post-pay).
• Strengthen compliance and audit readiness across Payroll and HR Ops.
• Standardize processes, RACIs, SOPs and control documentation.
• Govern payroll data access and segregation of duties.
• Provide independent oversight of provider performance.
• Monitor service quality, identify risks, and validate corrective actions.
• Partner with external providers and regional stakeholders.
• Collaborate with HRIT, IT, Finance and providers to enhance controls.
• Drive projects like payroll vendor consolidation.
• Maintain audit readiness and documentation standards.
• Escalate payroll control deficiencies or vendor issues.
• Balance local requirements with global governance standards.
