Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Kraków is seeking an IT Category Manager to drive global procurement strategies for infrastructure and end-user technologies. You will manage sourcing processes, contracts, and supplier performance aligned with the Infrastructure Tower direction.

You will lead a small team of Sourcing Professionals, coordinate with Legal, Cybersecurity and IT governance, and drive value through benchmarking, standardization, and lifecycle optimization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT procurement, category or supplier management in global orgs.
• Solid knowledge of IT hardware, networking, telecom, or end-user computing.
• Proven collaboration with technical leaders.
• Experience leading small teams (2–3 FTEs).
• Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills.
• Experience with SAP Ariba and S/4HANA procurement processes.
• Working knowledge of ITIL and infrastructure lifecycle management.
• Advanced analytics skills including TCO modelling and spend analysis.

Responsibilities

• Execute global commercial category strategies defined by the Infrastructure Tower Manager.
• Perform spend and market analysis to identify savings and risk opportunities.
• Lead global sourcing events using SAP Ariba Sourcing (RFIs/RFPs/RFQs).
• Negotiate global contracts, pricing, maintenance, and telecom agreements.
• Collaborate with Legal, Cybersecurity, Export Control and IT Governance for compliant contracting.
• Manage relationships with OEMs, resellers and telecom providers; run QBRs.
• Coach and develop a small team of sourcing professionals.
• Drive value through benchmarking, consolidation, standardization and lifecycle optimization.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with IT and IT Controlling.
• Maintain contract docs in Ariba Contracts and support audits and risk assessments.
