Job summary

Roche in Madrid seeks a DevOps Infrastructure Engineer (SE8) to define the technical direction for multiple platforms and oversee their lifecycle from inception to retirement. You will lead cross-functional teams and drive enterprise-wide DevOps initiatives, with a strong focus on automation, IaC, CI/CD, and observability.

You will shape SRE practices, design self-healing systems, and participate in high-level strategic decisions while collaborating with global teams across the organization.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience with automation, IaC, logging, monitoring, observability, infrastructure configuration, and scripting languages.
• Proven wide experience applying software engineering principles and automated testing to lead IDPs and complex CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep experience with availability, capacity, configuration, scalability, performance, and integrations of infrastructure systems.

Responsibilities

• Establishes the technical direction for the lifecycle of multiple platforms and services, from inception through deployment, operation, and retirement, using software engineering principles.
• Leads the design of metrics for SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs, and ensures availability, capacity planning, tuning, and scalable initiatives.
• Leads partnerships with developers, Managed Services suppliers, and vendors at senior levels to inform customer-centric IT decisions.
• Implements cost, compliance, and security best practices while ensuring compliance with Quality/Regulatory standards and leading DR initiatives.
• Collaborates globally with geo-distributed teams to drive excellence and alignment across domains.
• Defines computing infrastructure under software control and leads IDP and CI/CD implementation efforts.
