Job summary

Wilhelmsen group’s Shared Service Center in Szczecin seeks an experienced GL Team Leader to drive end‑to‑end accounting processes for our global business. You will set goals, coach the team, manage month‑end closures and ensure accuracy and compliance.

In a hybrid, multinational environment, you will work with stakeholders across countries, develop the team and use English daily while delivering high‑quality financial services and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of SSC/BPO accounting experience.
• At least 3 years in team leadership roles.
• Degree in economics, finance or accounting.
• Strong GL process expertise and continuous improvement.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to resolve cross-system issues.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead GL team and manage end-to-end processes and service delivery.
• Ensure timely month-end closings and data accuracy.
• Coach and develop team members through regular feedback.
• Oversee knowledge transfer and transition projects between offices.
• Monitor SLAs, workload, and service delivery quality.

Support us with:

• Leading the GL team and taking responsibility for end-to-end processes and service delivery, including setting individual and team goals, providing feedback, conducting performance reviews and supporting recruitment activities


• Managing month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data are accurate, complete and compliant with Corporate Accounting Guidelines


• Leading knowledge transfer and transition projects from local finance offices while ensuring smooth onboarding of processes and operational continuity


• Monitoring team performance, workload distribution and service delivery against agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring high quality and efficiency of operations


• Supporting and developing team members through coaching, regular 1-to-1 meetings, performance feedback and professional development initiatives


• Driving continuous process improvement, standardization and operational excellence by identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness


• Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders, providing professional support and ensuring excellent customer service


• Managing issue resolution and escalation processes, proposing solutions to operational challenges and ensuring compliance with company procedures and confidentiality requirements


• Supporting GL Manager in various ad hoc tasks and projects

You will thrive in this role if you have:

• +8 years of accounting experience in SSC/BPO


• At least 3 years of experience as a Team Leader/Coordinator/Senior


• Education related to economics, finance, accountancy


• Excellent understanding of processes in GL and proven ability to constantly improve these processes


• Highly developed problem-solving skills including the ability to resolve issues impacting different interconnected systems;


• Good planning and organizational skills, with ability to adapt to changing environment


• Ability to build good relationships with different stakeholders
