Verisk in Kraków is seeking a detail-oriented General Ledger Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team. You will support month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and SOX compliance in a global environment.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s or master’s in accounting, at least 3 years in GL/R2R, advanced English, and strong Excel and ERP experience (Oracle Fusion preferred). The role offers a hybrid work model and a competitive salary in PLN.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries in line with US GAAP and procedures.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities and reporting.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and period-end close tasks.
  • Analyze financial data, investigate variances, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Ensure SOX compliance and maintain documentation for controls.
  • Support internal and external audits with analysis and explanations.
  • Collaborate with global finance teams and business units.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, data quality, and controls.
  • Contribute to automation and finance transformation initiatives.

Verisk is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive General Ledger Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team in Kraków. You will collaborate with finance teams across the US and globally, supporting month-end close, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and SOX compliance. This role offers the opportunity to gain broad exposure to corporate accounting operations, work in a global environment, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries in line with US GAAP, company policies, and accounting procedures.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Perform accounting activities covering accruals, prepaid expenses, allocations, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial data, investigate variances and discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring outstanding items are appropriately followed up and cleared.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and SOX requirements, including timely execution and documentation of assigned controls.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing financial analysis, documentation, and explanations.
  • Partner with business units and Finance stakeholders to address accounting queries and provide high-quality support.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, data quality, efficiency, and controls.
  • Contribute to automation, standardization, system implementations, knowledge transfers, and other Finance transformation initiatives.
  • Maintain clear and up-to-date process documentation and support special projects as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in General Ledger accounting, Record-to-Report (R2R), Corporate Accounting, or a similar role.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience working with ERP systems; experience with Oracle Fusion is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and data quality
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional and international teams.
