Job summary

Nordea is seeking an AI Engineer to join the Group Technology team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will help build the Finance AI Platform, enabling Generative AI and Agentic capabilities across the bank with a strong focus on security, governance, and scalable delivery.

Responsibilities include designing AI agents, improving RAG, integrating with internal systems, and ensuring observability, testing, and performance optimization in cloud environments (GCP).

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in cloud environments.
• Proven hands-on experience delivering Generative AI solutions, including LLM-powered applications and RAG in production.
• Strong Python skills; experience building APIs and backend services.
• Deep understanding of RAG architectures and embeddings, vector search, grounding techniques.
• Experience with agentic AI frameworks and orchestration patterns (LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI).
• Experience building cloud-native AI on Google Cloud Platform (Vertex AI, containerized apps, CI/CD).
• Experience building observable and reliable AI systems with monitoring, telemetry, tracing, guardrails and performance optimization.
• Solid software engineering practices: testing, security, scalability, maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate AI agents and agentic workflows using the Finance AI Platform.
• Develop and improve Retrieval-Augmented Generation capabilities and knowledge ingestion.
• Integrate AI solutions with internal platforms via robust APIs and secure integrations.
• Create reusable platform capabilities for rapid AI-driven use case deployment.
• Ensure production-grade quality through testing, evaluation, observability, and performance tuning.
• Implement Responsible AI, governance, security, and compliance controls.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, product owners, and stakeholders to define AI engineering standards and drive adoption.
