Job summary

Payair Technologies is seeking a Java Developer to build and maintain backend fintech products. You will collaborate with teams in Poland and Sweden to deliver scalable services for major payment players and Tier-1 banks.

The role requires hands-on Java development, REST APIs, secure coding, and teamwork within an agile, hybrid setup (50% on-site). Fluency in English is essential and knowledge of payments is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of commercial Java development experience.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
• Knowledge of application security best practices and secure coding.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience developing payment applications.
• Familiarity with Quarkus is a plus.
• Fluent English (spoken) at least B2.
• Strong teamwork and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining software applications and programs using Java technologies.
• Participating in code reviews and following established design standards.
• Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Contributing to technical discussions and providing input on implementation approaches.
• Working with team members to identify and resolve technical challenges.
• Breaking down user stories into implementable tasks and providing time estimates.
• Collaborating with the product owner to understand requirements and implement features.
• Testing and debugging code to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Participating in agile ceremonies and contributing to team success.
