Job summary

Jobgether is partnering with leading fintech clients to hire a Senior Java Engineer (Payments) in Poland. You will own end-to-end technical aspects of enterprise-grade payment platforms, designing scalable services, and driving secure, compliant transaction processing.

You will mentor peers and influence engineering practices across multiple client engagements. You will work in a fully remote setup, leveraging modern Java technologies, Kafka event streams, cloud-native patterns, and AI-assisted

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Hands-on payments/fintech technology experience.
• Advanced Java and Spring expertise (Java 21+).
• Experience with REST APIs and OpenAPI specifications.
• Proficient in relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and ORM (Hibernate/JPA).
• Familiar with Gradle or Maven and CI/CD pipelines.
• Cloud, containerization (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Testing and observability tools (JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers, OpenTelemetry).
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Java/Spring Boot applications for payment platforms.
• Lead technical architecture and define service boundaries and data models.
• Deliver secure, compliant financial transaction processing and integrations.
• Improve CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and deployment practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead code reviews.
• Manage production incidents and root-cause analyses.
