Job summary

Calan in Warsaw seeks a seasoned Finance Manager to oversee financing, controlling and accounting for a growing portfolio of projects in Poland. You will manage banking relationships, investor negotiations and project finance close, while directing budgeting, forecasting and IFRS reporting.

The role requires a strong track record in project finance, team leadership and cross-border collaboration, with a hybrid work model and travel to project regions.

Qualifications

• Degree in finance, accounting or economics; ACCA, CIMA or a Polish audit qualification is welcome.
• At least 10 years in finance, including 5 in a management role; renewable energy or capital-intensive sector preferred.
• Hands-on experience of project finance: structuring, negotiating with banks, and closing.
• Proven track record with institutional investors and lenders, ideally in an international group.
• Solid command of controlling: budgeting, forecasting, project profitability, cash management.
• Sound knowledge of Polish accounting and tax, and consolidated reporting under IFRS.
• Familiarity with transfer pricing and reporting into a foreign parent company.
• Comfortable moving between a bank negotiation in the morning and a closing review in the afternoon.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills, and the ability to give a straight recommendation rather than a spreadsheet.
• Experience leading a small finance team and working with external providers.
• Polish at native level, English at C1 minimum; a further European language welcome.

Responsibilities

• Leading financing, investors and banks activities from term sheet to financial close.
• Maintaining day-to-day relationships with banks, institutional investors and financing partners.
• Building and testing financial models and shaping capital structure for Polish entities.
• Preparing financial material for due diligence, refinancing and transactions.
• Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning and KPI tools.
• Delighting group finance with timely, clear reporting and strong cost controls.
• Managing accounting, tax compliance, transfer pricing and audits.
• Leading the finance team and coordinating with external providers.
