Job summary

Jit Team in Poland is seeking a data engineer to join a Nordic-financial client on a banking risk management project. You will help design and implement scalable data solutions and collaborate with finance, treasury, and risk teams.

In this role you’ll build ETL/ELT pipelines with Snowflake and SQL, support balance sheet stress testing and regulatory reporting, and ensure data quality and governance across multiple source systems in an international, English-speaking environment.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, SQL, and enterprise data warehousing.
• Extensive ETL/ELT development and data transformation.
• Solid understanding of banking processes including Balance Sheet Management, Stress Testing, Risk Management, Treasury, and Regulatory Reporting.
• Strong business analysis, requirements gathering, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake and SQL.
• Analyze banking requirements related to balance sheet stress testing and regulatory reporting.

Work model:

Hybrid in Gdańsk, Gdynia, Warsaw, or Łódź (2-3 days per week from the office), with the possibility of remote work.

Project

You will be involved in a financial project focused on banking risk management, balance sheet stress testing, and regulatory reporting, combining advanced data engineering with business analysis to deliver reliable, scalable data solutions.

Responsibilities you'll have

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake and SQL.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, finance, treasury, and risk teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Build and optimize data models supporting financial analysis, stress testing, and management reporting.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, aggregation, and quality checks across multiple source systems.
• Ensure data governance, lineage, and compliance with banking regulatory requirements.
• Investigate data discrepancies, challenge business assumptions, and drive improvements in data processing.
• Support end-to-end delivery, from requirements gathering and analysis to implementation and production deployment.

Expected competences and knowledge

• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, SQL, and enterprise data warehousing.
• Extensive experience in ETL/ELT development and data transformation.
• Solid understanding of banking processes, particularly Balance Sheet Management, Stress Testing, Risk Management, Treasury, Liquidity, and Regulatory Reporting.
• Strong business analysis skills, including requirements gathering, process analysis, and stakeholder management.
• Experience with complex data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and aggregation across multiple source systems.
• Knowledge of financial data modeling and data preparation for analytical models.
• Understanding of data quality, governance, data lineage, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both business and technical teams.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as EBA, ECB, Basel, ICAAP, ILAAP, or IRRBB.
• Experience with Data Vault, dimensional modeling, and cloud-based data platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile/SAFe methodologies and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
