Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day

You join a team that is being built right now. Transformation of Industry is setting up a dedicated Function Controlling for the first time, and you are part of it from the start. On 25 August 2026 Siemens Energy announced preparations for the legal and operational separation of Transformation of Industry into a standalone company, a fast-growing business with around 17,000 employees, €6 billion of revenue and a double-digit profit margin. A standalone company needs its own transparency on the cost of its central functions - and that is exactly what this team delivers.

You begin the day by reviewing the latest forecast for one of TI's central functions. Headcount, external spend and project costs have moved, and the functional leadership team needs a clear view of the financial impact. You discuss the key drivers, challenge assumptions and agree on actions. Later, you prepare the monthly performance review, coordinate inputs with local controllers and work with colleagues on a more efficient reporting solution. You are close to the business, comfortable with detail and able to turn numbers into a concise management message.

This is a rare moment to join. A new company is being built, and with it a new Finance organization: the central Business Controlling team of Transformation of Industry is developing into the Corporate FP&A department of that company, an organization of more than 100 finance professionals. Within it, the Function Controlling team is defining common standards for planning, reporting, performance management and allocations - and you help shape them while owning the day-to-day business partnering for your functions. In this position you report directly to the Head of Function Controlling.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Act as Finance Business Partner for corporate functions such as IT, HR, Communications, Legal & Compliance, Procurement or Finance, supporting their leaders in financial and performance decisions
  • Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, monthly closing and mid-term planning for assigned functions, ensuring alignment with local and regional controllers
  • Analyze cost, headcount, project and resource developments, explain deviations, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure consistent planning, reporting and data quality
  • Prepare management reports, performance reviews and decision-support materials, and support business cases, investment assessments and ad-hoc analyses for functional initiatives
  • Challenge spending plans and identify, quantify and track efficiency measures, supporting sound financial decisions and effective resource allocation
  • Develop allocation, charging and governance concepts, and improve controlling processes through standardization, automation and digital reporting
What You Bring
  • A university degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering or a related field
  • Longstanding experience in controlling, FP&A, cost controlling, function controlling or finance business partnering, with solid knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, cost center controlling and variance analysis
  • An analytical and structured approach, combining attention to detail with a clear understanding of the broader business context
  • A proactive, hands-on attitude and the flexibility to work effectively in a changing organization with a high workload
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively and follow topics through to resolution, combined with good Excel and PowerPoint skills; knowledge of SAP, Power BI, SAC or comparable tools is a plus
  • Fluent English; additional languages are an asset but not required
