Buro Happold Limited in Lublin is seeking an AP Junior Accountant to join our Europe Finance team. You will support Accounts Payable, process supplier invoices, ensure accuracy, and help maintain strong financial controls across Europe.

We seek detail-oriented, analytical individuals with a finance background who can work independently or with colleagues across our global network. Fluent Polish and English are required, with German as a plus, and hybrid working arrangements are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or ongoing studies, in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and VAT/tax regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent Polish and English language skills.
• Knowledge of German would be considered an asset.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop within a finance environment.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable Processing.
• Review, verify and process supplier invoices in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Ensure invoice accuracy, including validation of vendor details, purchase orders, tax information and payment terms.
• Post invoices and credit notes into the accounting system.
• Prepare and process vendor payments in a timely manner.
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate and organised accounting records and documentation.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Assist in preparing reports and analyses related to Accounts Payable activities.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and information.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
• Respond to supplier enquiries and resolve payment-related issues.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth invoice approval and payment processes.
• Build effective working relationships with suppliers and colleagues across the business.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the Accounts Payable function.
