Allegro in Warsaw is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our backend team through a strategic technology transformation. You will guide migrations from .NET/Azure to a JVM/GCP stack, mentor engineers, and own core delivery APIs for our delivery and logistics ecosystem.

The role demands strong leadership, hands-on technical skills, and the ability to bridge business needs with scalable engineering solutions in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Strong backend development background (.NET or Java)
• Experience leading migrations or architectural overhauls
• Ability translate business needs to technical tasks
• Excellent communicator representing team externally
• Willing to be hands-on when necessary
• Product-oriented mindset with APIs scaling
• Polish and English fluency (B2)

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute migration of microservices from .NET to JVM/Kotlin/GCP
• Mentor backend team through tech stack transition
• Maintain and extend integration APIs for carriers
• Translate business needs to technical deliverables
• Lead technical discussions with partners
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide hands-on guidance
