Job summary

Netflix in Warsaw is hiring an engineering manager for a new team to advance AI-powered technology behind fandom experiences. You will build the team and own day-to-day execution, partnering with US engineers and a product manager to strategize, plan, and execute together.

You will hire and coach backend and UI engineers, foster inclusion, and ensure stability, performance, and strong product experiences while balancing business needs and tech debt.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing full-stack engineering teams with a solid engineering background.
• Experience standing up a team from a small starting point: hiring, onboarding, and setting technical direction.
• A product and strategy mindset to translate guidance into actionable decisions.
• Real interest in AI and applying it to tooling for review and planning.
• Comfortable negotiating scope with cross-functional partners and shaping joint roadmaps.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with product managers, designers, engineers, and other managers across US/Poland to align on vision and strategy.
• Foster accountability culture and ensure roadmap delivery on time.
• Act as a credible technical advisor for thoughtful decisions in ambiguity.
• Prioritize cross-domain work and connect dots with peer teams.
• Communicate complex ideas clearly and influence diverse stakeholders.
• Balance business needs with engineering principles; invest in foundational work and continue incremental improvements.
• Hire, coach, and lead backend and UI engineers focusing on stability, performance, and product experience.
• Build an inclusive team culture where every member feels empowered and respected.
