Job summary

Inteva Products is seeking an experienced design engineer to support product engineering and customers in achieving feasible cockpit designs. You will create CAD data, 2D drawings, and visualization files, coordinating with engineering teams and archiving data per internal and customer standards.

The role requires extensive IP design experience in instrument panels and cockpits, strong knowledge of injection molding, GD&T, and familiarity with GM VAS and UG CATIA tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years IP design experience.
• Proven track record in instrument panels and cockpits.
• Extensive knowledge of injection molding and forming processes.
• Familiarity with GD&T and assembly design.

Responsibilities

• Support product engineering and other teams to achieve design feasibility.
• Create CAD data according to inputs from product engineering and customer data.
• Prepare additional data sets (2D drawings, section book, visualization) per requirements.
• Archive CAD data into internal and customer data applications.
• Produce concept visuals to improve understanding.

Job description

Description

Support product engineering and other support personnel to achieve design feasibility and engineering changes.

Responsible for creating the CAD data, according to the inputs given by product engineering and customer data.

Ensures That Product Designs Consider

• Design for assembly
• Design for manufacturing
• Quality functional deployment
• Finite element analysis data
• DFMEA

Creates additional data sets as required by the program e.g. 2D drawing, section book, visualization files, exploded views etc. acc. INTEVA internal & customer requirements.

Pulling out and archiving CAD data into internal and customer based data applications.

Prepare perspective illustrations to improve concept visualization and understanding.

Position Requirements

• Previous Design experience in Instrument Panels and Cockpits with a proven track record of success. Minimum of 10 years IP experience.
• Record of successful design programs.
• Expert packaging knowledge for Cockpit Subsystem: components, occupant safety and human factor requirements.
• Extensive knowledge of Injection Molding, Skin forming, foam molding and Stamping principles to facilitate design activities.
• Creative Problem Solving Skills & Self Starting: Work effectively with others.
• UNIGRAPHICS CAD system expertise (certification) and expert knowledge of GM Vehicle Assembly Structure (VAS).
• Skillful in creating conceptual designs.
• Working knowledge of GD&T.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred

• Extensive experience working with Customer Studio personnel.
• Class 'A' Surfacing - Certified.
• CATIA Experience.
