Aptean is seeking a Privacy Counsel to join our global legal team supporting the EMEA business. This hands-on, operational role provides pragmatic privacy and data protection guidance across the region.

You will work with product, engineering, security and commercial teams to implement DPIAs, DSARs, data retention, international transfers (SCCs) and DPAs, embedding privacy by design. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years post‑qualification privacy experience, GDPR expertise, and experience in a

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of post‑qualification privacy/data protection experience.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR and EMEA privacy frameworks.
• Experience advising in multi‑jurisdictional or global settings.

Responsibilities

• Advise on GDPR/compliance and broader EMEA data protection laws.
• Support data mapping, DPIAs/PIAs, data retention and international transfers (SCCs).
• Draft, review, and negotiate DPAs and privacy clauses in contracts.
• Embed privacy by design into products and processes with cross‑functional teams.
• Manage DSARs and advise on e‑privacy and marketing compliance.
• Monitor developments and provide practical guidance and training.
