Job summary

Hanwha Renewables seeks a Senior Director/Director of Build-Transfer Origination & Utility Partnerships to lead BTA origination across priority U.S. utility markets and build a repeatable pipeline of opportunities.

You will develop commercialization strategies, lead cross-functional teams, and manage end-to-end negotiations for solar, storage, and hybrid projects. The role requires deep utility procurement experience, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in business, finance, economics, engineering, law, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in utility renewable procurement, generation development, asset acquisition, or related roles.
• Experience with BTAs, asset acquisitions, or utility ownership structures.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead Hanwha Renewables’ BTA origination strategy across priority U.S. utility markets.
• Develop and execute BTA commercialization strategies, including RFP participation and bilateral origination.
• Lead internal BTA initiative and cross-functional coordination to scale transactions.
• Lead preparation and submission of utility procurement responses for solar, storage, and hybrids.
• Develop senior relationships with utility procurement, finance, legal, and executive teams to shape opportunities.
• Lead BTA term sheets, asset purchase agreements, and related negotiations across multiple teams.
• Translate utility requirements into actionable project-development criteria (schedule, interconnection, tax, transfer mechanics).
• Evaluate transaction economics from developer and utility perspectives (tax credits, depreciation, rate-base).
• Monitor utility procurement plans and calendars to identify opportunities early.
• Partner with Development and M&A to identify projects suited for utility ownership and provide strategic recommendations.
