Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Digital Technical Engineer to support transformer monitoring across the EUC HUB. You will troubleshoot, deploy, and train teams in a highly collaborative multi-country environment.

The role requires 2+ years in transformer engineering or related areas, strong knowledge of monitoring technologies, and fluent technical English. You will coordinate with R&D and product management to drive innovation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field, or equivalent proven practical experience.
• Knowledge of transformer monitoring solutions (DGA, bushings, partial discharge, TMS, alarm annunciators, oil dryers, eDevices).
• Understanding of transformer technologies, diagnostics, IEC 60076-7; IEEE C57.91 is a plus.
• Ability to interpret electrical control schematics; basic PLC knowledge and software programming.
• Experience with commissioning and deployment of monitoring systems is a plus.
• Fluent technical English with strong communication, capable of working in international teams.
• International experience and familiarity with AI tools for scripting, research, or data analysis are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Execute and deploy the Digital Transformer Monitoring portfolio across the EUC HUB.
• Support integration of digital transformer monitoring solutions while adapting deployments to local standards and requirements.
• Provide Level 2 technical support for digital products, troubleshooting issues and recommending optimal solutions.
• Deliver technical training to engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to enable greater self-sufficiency.
• Share market insights, regional requirements, and technology trends with product management and R&D teams.
• Identify, track, and drive improvement opportunities to support cost reduction and process optimization.
