Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Transformer Diagnostics Specialist to ideate, develop, and maintain diagnostic methodologies for assessing power transformer condition. You will translate operational data into actionable information and support customers in managing transformer fleets with predictive maintenance.

The ideal candidate has strong DGA/PD diagnostics expertise, experience with monitoring systems and diagnostic algorithms, and the ability to collaborate across global teams while traveling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Strong expertise in DGA and PD diagnostics for power transformers.
• Experience with transformer monitoring systems, diagnostic algorithms, and asset management.
• Knowledge of IEEE, IEC, and CIGRE standards related to transformer diagnostics.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills; able to translate data into actionable recommendations.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites, factories, and technical meetings.

Responsibilities

• Stay up to date with the latest transformer monitoring technologies, standards, and market trends.
• Serve as subject matter expert in DGA, PD diagnostics and transformer condition assessment.
• Propose and develop novel monitoring solutions and diagnostic algorithms.
• Collaborate with product management to define service roadmaps and improvements.
• Support design, evaluation, and application of online monitoring systems and sensors.
• Provide technical support and training to service units and customers.
• Participate in international standardization activities and technical conferences.
