Job summary

Vaillant Group Business Services Poland is seeking a Data Software Engineer to collaborate with data scientists and engineers on analytics foundations for machine data, processes and customer insights.

You will maintain a scalable codebase for ETL/ELT across IoT, CRM and enterprise platforms, ensuring high quality software and reliable data products on our platform. English fluency is required; German is a plus, and the role features a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

  • University degree in computer science or a comparable quantitative field is required.
  • Three+ years of professional software development experience in data analytics or data engineering environments.
  • Proficient in Python and SQL with hands‑on experience in modular, scalable data analytics applications, ideally using cloud-based technologies such as Azure and Databricks.
  • Nice to have: Java, Scala, Spark or Kafka; exposure to agile frameworks and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with data scientists and data engineers to strengthen the software foundation of analytics solutions for machine data, business processes, and customer insights.
  • Maintain and further develop a scalable codebase for ETL/ELT processes extracting, transforming, and serving large data volumes from IoT, CRM, and enterprise platforms.
  • Ensure high code quality and reliable operation of data products on our data platform.
  • Apply DataOps practices and automation to streamline development workflows and improve efficiency across analytics solutions.
  • Contribute to data governance and security initiatives, ensuring compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage with product owners and stakeholders to translate requirements into high-quality technical solutions.

Job description

  • In this role as Data Software Engineer, you collaborate closely with data scientists and data engineers to strengthen the software foundation of advanced analytics solutions for machine data, business processes and customer insights.
  • Together with an agile and interdisciplinary team, you maintain and further develop a scalable codebase for extracting, transforming and serving large data volumes from diverse sources such as Internet of Things systems, customer relationship management and enterprise platforms.
  • By creating robust, maintainable and future‑proof software components, you ensure high code quality and support the reliable operation of data products on our data platform.
  • Your responsibilities will include applying DataOps practices and automation to streamline development workflows and improve efficiency across analytics solutions.
  • You actively contribute to data governance and security initiatives, ensuring that data solutions comply with defined standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Through open communication and knowledge sharing, you support internal communities and collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to translate requirements into high‑quality technical solutions.

  • Experience: You have at least three years of professional experience in software development within data analytics or data engineering environments.
  • Know‑how and skills: You are proficient in Python and Structured Query Language and have hands‑on experience designing modular, scalable data analytics applications, ideally using cloud‑based technologies such as Microsoft Azure and Databricks.
  • Nice to have: Additional programming knowledge in Java, Scala or technologies such as Apache Spark or Kafka, as well as exposure to agile frameworks and tools, will help you settle in even faster.
  • Personality: You enjoy working collaboratively, communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, and are motivated to continuously learn and grow in a dynamic, data‑driven environment.
  • Language skills: You communicate fluently in English; German language skills are an advantage
