Job summary

Lufthansa Group Business Services in Kraków is seeking a data analytics specialist to support route profitability decisions through analytics and data science.

You will build and enhance BI/data analytics solutions, translate business requirements into technical designs, and drive data engineering, processing methods, and IT applications for route performance. Strong English is required; German is a plus. A university degree and Poland work permit are necessary.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent in a relevant field
• Professional experience in advanced analytics, ML, statistics
• Experience with Python, R and cloud technologies or SAP BW/DSP; BI tools SAC/Tableau
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• English fluency; German a plus
• Must possess permit to work in Poland

Job description

You will support the Lufthansa Group Airlines in route optimization using analytics and data science technologies. Key decisions regarding the route portfolio will be made based on the data you generate.

Tasks

We are looking for you to take responsibility for the IT processes used to determine and further develop steering-relevant data related to Route Profitability within the Lufthansa Group. Our customers include the Executive Board, Airline Management and Controlling, as well as Network Management.

Based on the data we provide, management and especially Network Management decide whether routes within the LHG should be continued or discontinued.

You will work independently on implementing and further developing the dedicated IT systems for data management and processing.

Your responsibilities

• Support and development of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics solutions
• Translation of business requirements into technical solutions
• Further development of data engineering and processing methods
• Implementation of department-specific IT applications and systems
• Identification of new data sources and integration for analytical purposes
• Planning and steering projects, including project leadership where applicable
• Perform all other duties assigned or delegated by supervisors

Requirements

• University degree or university of applied sciences degree in (business) informatics, mathematics, business administration with data analytics/data science knowledge or comparable
• Professional experience in advanced analytics, machine learning, statistics or a comparable field
• Experience with Python, R and cloud technologies or SAP BW/DSP, as well as current Business Intelligence tools such as SAC or Tableau
• Strong problem-solving skills as well as pronounced analytical and conceptual abilities
• Team player with a strong customer focus
• High degree of initiative and commitment
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English, German language skills are an advantage
