Job summary

Workplays in Warsaw is seeking a Game Director to own the creative direction from concept to release. You will lead a cross-functional team of 20+ developers, shaping gameplay features and systems to deliver a high-quality player experience with commercial success.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent Polish and English, and a hands-on mentoring approach. Hybrid work in our Warsaw office is offered with flexible collaboration.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of experience in design, art or creative direction.
• Experience as Game Director or Creative Director.
• Experience leading teams of 20+ developers.
• Experience prototyping and shipping games using Unreal Engine.
• Excellent Polish and English language skills (B2+).
• Strong creative mindset and leadership abilities.
• Strong data reading and analytical thinking; excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Deep understanding of the gamedev market and trends.

Responsibilities

• Own the game direction from concept to market release with accountability for quality and player experience.
• Define the game vision with leadership and management, and translate it into design mechanics and systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align concepts, visuals and narrative.
• Mentor team members and remove roadblocks to deliver on-time, high-quality features.
• Ensure alignment with executive leadership on creative and production direction.
• Lead rapid prototyping, adapt to technical constraints, and guide production decisions.
