Position: CMO Manager (Contract Manufacturing Organization Manager)
Reporting to: Director Purchasing
Division: Operations (COO)
Acting at the interface between key internal stakeholders (Product Development, Operations, Quality) and external partners, you serve as the central, advisory expert for your product categories.
Your mandate is clear: Secure product availability, drive cost efficiency, and ensure the seamless integration of external capabilities to support business growth. You are not just managing production orders; you use your daily exposure to external partners to gather valuable manufacturing intelligence. By identifying external best practices and new technologies, you act as a catalyst for innovation, transferring this know-how back into our internal operations.
This is a mobile role, with regular quarterly visits in Berlin, travels to suppliers (both Poland and abroad), and regular visits (2-4 times a month) to Węgrów.
Knowledge of both Polish and English is a must.
Expectations, KPIs & Prioritization
Core Priorities (In order of importance):
- Security of supply (0% Out-of-Stock and Risk Mitigation): preventing stockouts is the top priority to secure revenue and customer retention. This requires flawless data maintenance (ETAs) and proactive risk communication across all involved departments.
- Cost competence & TCO reduction: ensure budget adherence and continuous cost optimization. You actively build profound market knowledge of manufacturing and raw material costs within your product category, using this intelligence as the foundation for strategic, effective negotiations.
- Launch efficiency and project ownership: drive New Product Introductions (NPI) through structured project management. You ensure an On-Time-Launch by keeping tight control over your project milestones and fostering highly effective collaboration across all involved departments.
- Strategic network expansion: continuously screen the market within your product categories to identify potential new capabilities and drive the seamless onboarding of new manufacturing partners.
Additional KPIs:
- Stock on hand: balance the primary "0% Out-of-Stock" target with efficient capital allocation. This KPI measures whether inventory levels are kept within defined min/max thresholds to avoid overstocking and tied-up working capital.
- Supplier delivery reliability: track the percentage of production orders delivered On-Time and In-Full by the CMO. This metric evaluates the partner's operational reliability and is critical for stable supply chain planning.
- CAPA & complaint resolution time: drive the swift resolution of quality issues by holding external partners accountable. While QM owns the quality standard, your metric focuses on enforcing fast turnaround times for clarifications and the successful closure of CAPA processes by the CMO.
- Quality rate: number of complaints / ppm rate.
Key Responsibilities & Daily Operations
You own the day-to-day management of your assigned CMO & Product portfolio, ensuring data integrity, delivery reliability, and commercial success.
- Production planning & execution: translate requirements from Demand Planning and Supply Chain into concrete, feasible production schedules with external partners based on their capacities and production patterns. Maintain strict data accuracy for ETAs to guarantee security of supply
- Commercial management: leverage your market knowledge of raw material and manufacturing costs to negotiate pricing, payment terms, and conditions. Verify and approve invoices to ensure accurate financial processing.
- Material & logistics coordination: oversee the provision of raw materials (supplied by Sunday Natural) to ensure partners have necessary inputs on time. Coordinate the inbound flow of semi-finished goods (bulk) for internal processing and finished goods to the fulfillment center.
- Capacity & risk management: continuously analyze partner capacity against demand to mitigate bottlenecks early. Proactively resolve production delays in close cross-functional alignment with Demand Planning & Supply Chain.
- Internal knowledge transfer: act as an innovation catalyst by actively sharing technical insights and external production best practices to benchmark and optimize Sunday Natural's internal production facilities
