Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an experienced Construction Planner to join a London-based team. The role focuses on developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes, coordinating with site teams, subcontractors and senior management to ensure timely delivery.

The ideal candidate will have strong sequencing knowledge, proficient use of Primavera P6 and a track record on large-scale projects, with the ability to manage complex interfaces and provide accurate forecasts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in construction planning within a main contractor environment.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and buildability.
• Experience on large-scale or complex construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update detailed construction programmes in line with project requirements.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers and site teams to establish realistic sequences.
• Monitor progress against baselines and identify delays or slippage.
• Analyse the critical path, float and milestones; produce look-ahead programmes.
• Support progress reporting and delay analysis as required.

Job DescriptionThe Opportunity A leading Tier 1 main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Construction Planner to join their London team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Planner to work on a major construction project within a well-established main contractor, taking responsibility for developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes and working closely with the wider project team to ensure successful delivery. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of construction sequencing and programme management, with the ability to engage confidently with site teams, subcontractors, consultants and senior management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update detailed construction programmes in line with project requirements.


• Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Managers and subcontractors to establish realistic construction sequences.


• Monitor progress against the approved baseline programme and identify areas of delay or potential slippage.


• Maintain and analyse the project critical path, float and key milestones.


• Produce short-term and medium-term look-ahead programmes.


• Collect and validate progress information from site teams and subcontractors.


• Identify programme risks, constraints, interfaces and opportunities for improvement.


• Develop recovery and mitigation programmes where required.


• Assist with programme reporting for internal management and client/project meetings.


• Provide accurate completion forecasts and programme analysis.


• Coordinate programme interfaces between construction, design, procurement, commercial and commissioning activities.


• Support the preparation of progress reports, programme narratives and other project controls information.


• Assist with delay analysis and extension-of-time assessments where required.


• Ensure programme information is accurate, robust and aligned with the project's contractual requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years' experience in construction planning within a main contractor environment.


• Strong understanding of construction methodology, sequencing and buildability.


• Proven experience working on large-scale or complex construction projects.


• Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6.
