Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in London is seeking a Transport Planner to join a small team delivering development-led transport planning support across residential, commercial and mixed-use sectors. You will prepare TA/TS, Travel Plans and related notes, analysing traffic data and contributing to access design and tender responses.

The role suits an early-career professional or strong graduate looking to accelerate technical skills within a collaborative consultancy and gain exposure to client interaction

Qualifications

• Degree in Geography, Transport Planning, Civil Engineering or similar.
• Some experience in development planning (0-2 years)
• Strong communication and report writing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, TEMPRO, TRICS, Junctions 9 (ARCADY/PICADY) or GIS is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and technical notes.
• Analyse traffic and public transport data, and support visibility splay and swept path work.
• Assist with project management, client liaison and planning/highway officer engagement.
• Support planning drawings including access design and tracking.
• Contribute to appeal documentation and attend meetings or public consultation events.
• Assist in mentoring junior team members as your experience grows.
• Support proposals and tenders where required.

Role: Transport Planner

Location: London

Salary: £33-£47k (DOE)

You'll join an independent multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong reputation in development planning. Their London team delivers high-quality transport planning support for new developments across residential, commercial and mixed-use sectors. With a collaborative, high-retention culture, you'll gain exposure to Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, access strategies, junction modelling and early client interaction. This role is ideal for someone with early-stage development planning experience (or a strong graduate) who wants to accelerate their technical skills and progress quickly within a supportive, forward-thinking consultancy. You'll work on a wide range of development-led transport projects, supporting planning applications and helping to deliver sustainable transport solutions for major clients.
