Job summary

Energy Jobline is recruiting an Assistant Town Planner for a respected planning and development consultancy in London. The role offers hybrid working, exposure to high-profile projects across residential, commercial, and regeneration sectors, and a clear pathway towards RTPI chartership.

You will support planning submissions, policy research, and client liaison, while developing your professional skills through structured training and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline.
• Working towards RTPI membership or recently qualified.
• Experience within a planning consultancy, local authority, developer, or property environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent report-writing and analytical abilities.
• Proactive, organised and capable of managing multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals.
• Undertaking planning policy research and site appraisals.
• Preparing planning statements, supporting reports and consultation responses.
• Monitoring planning applications and local plan developments.
• Liaising with local authorities, clients, consultants and stakeholders.
• Supporting senior colleagues on complex planning and development projects.
• Contributing to business development activities and client relationships where appropriate.

You will work alongside experienced planning consultants and directors, providing planning advice to clients and supporting projects through the planning process from inception to delivery.
