Job summary

Sii Sweden AB is hiring for a data engineering specialist in Poland to join our Data & Analytics Competency Center. You will design, build, and optimize scalable data processing platforms within Data Lake/Data Platform architectures and collaborate with analysts, BI teams and Data Science groups to deliver data-driven insights.

The role requires strong SQL and Python, Spark/PySpark, and hands-on Azure cloud experience (Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric).

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in processing large data volumes.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience with Spark / PySpark.
• Azure cloud data processing experience (Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric).
• Fluent English and Polish language skills.
• Must be located in Poland.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, and developing scalable data processing platforms in Data Lake / Data Platform architecture.
• Creating and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate data and process it in Azure Databricks.
• Data modeling and preparing data structures for analytics and business needs.
• Implementing data processing solutions (batch and near real-time).
• Monitoring, optimizing, and developing existing pipelines and workflows.
• Collaborating with data analysts, BI teams, and Data Science teams to provide data.
• Gathering business requirements and proposing optimal tech solutions.
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation for developed solutions.
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members with best practices.

• Designing, building, and developing scalable and high-performance data processing platforms in Data Lake / Data Platform architecture
• Creating and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate data from various sources and process it in Azure Databricks environment
• Data modeling and preparing data structures tailored to analytical and business needs
• Implementing data processing solutions (batch and/or near real-time)
• Monitoring, optimizing, and developing existing pipelines and data processing workflows
• Collaborating with data analysts, BI teams, and Data Science teams to prepare and provide data
• Gathering business requirements and proposing optimal technological solutions
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation for developed solutions
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced team members, sharing knowledge and best practices

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in projects related to processing and integrating large volumes of data
• Strong knowledge of SQL and Python
• Experience working with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark / PySpark
• Practical experience in designing and building Data Lake and Data Warehouse solutions
• Ability to build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and work with data orchestration and integration tools
• Commercial experience in Microsoft Azure cloud-based data processing projects (e.g., Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric)
• Knowledge of data processing concepts in distributed environments and pipeline optimization
• Fluent communication skills in English
• Fluent Polish language proficiency required
• Must be located in Poland

Nice to have

• Experience in data migration projects from on-premise to cloud (databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL)
