Job summary

Redpanda Data is seeking an accomplished Engineering Manager to lead Cloud Customer Experience across two pods, Warsaw and the Americas. You will own the surfaces customers touch, including commerce, billing, and cloud integrations, while guiding teams across time zones with async-first collaboration.

You will partner with Product, Design, Finance, and field teams, shaping roadmaps and ensuring high-quality, on-time launches in a hybrid Warsaw office setup.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering, including building and operating enterprise-grade SaaS platforms.
• 3+ years managing technical engineering teams, with a track record of delivering predictably against committed roadmaps.
• Experience leading teams across a time zone spreads, including at least one team you did not sit with.
• Experience growing and forming teams, or leading a satellite office or remote hub of a globally distributed company.
• Experience owning customer-facing web surfaces and a design system. You don't need to be a UX and design specialist, but you'll own these surfaces and should be able to hold a real conversation about them.
• Solid cloud and distributed-systems fundamentals: hands-on experience with public cloud (at least one of AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience turning ambiguous product and commercial requirements into executable engineering plans.
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows (e.g. Claude Code).
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• A strong sense of empathy for customers and teammates, and a commitment to building high-trust teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead two engineering pods, one in Warsaw, one in the Americas, owning Redpanda Cloud's customer-facing surfaces.
• Own the commerce path end-to-end in Warsaw: sign-up and account management, usage-based billing, invoicing and payments.
• Hire and build the Warsaw team, completing team build out and be a senior engineering presence in a new office.
• Partner with established technical leads across cloud and engineering, and remotely lead the Americas pod.
• Own end-to-end delivery: scoping, prioritisation, execution, and on-time launches across both pods.
• Maintain a high bar for operational excellence: incident response, SLOs, and reliability targets.
