Job summary

Cisco is seeking Software Engineers for the Splunk Search Experience backend team. You will join a group of distributed-systems engineers building a next-generation, scalable search platform powering AI-driven workflows across products.

The role involves designing, developing, and launching features that power Cisco's core search functionalities and ensuring high performance and reliability in a multi-threaded environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, OS and software design.
• Experience with distributed systems (databases, file/storage).
• CI/CD, test automation, and integrating AI coding assistants into dev/testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and launch features powering core search functionalities.
• Build scalable distributed services in a multi-threaded/multi-process environment.
• Optimize search language layers and improve reliability of pipelines.
• Analyze incidents and implement preventive enhancements.
• Mentor junior engineers and grow team capabilities.
