Job summary

Alarm.com Kraków is expanding its Home Automation Experience (HAX) team and building a new group in Krakow. You will contribute to backend and device software, across platforms, collaborating with Product, QA, and other engineers.

As a Software Engineer II, you’ll own technical designs and feature implementations, with emphasis on backend systems, data, and edge computing for automation features like rules and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Solid backend engineering skills building and maintaining HTTP APIs/services (REST and/or GraphQL).
• Solid knowledge of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Experience with C#, .NET Core is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure and containerized deployments (Docker + Kubernetes).
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend and device software for a wide variety of platforms and technologies.
• Take part in the entire project life cycle, from requirements development to deployment with heavy cross-team collaboration
• Engage in the research, evaluation, and application of new technologies and methodologies to solve challenging project goals
• Write coherent, organized code with high levels of abstraction.
• Exercise good judgment; know when to work quickly, and when to build a robust solution
• Work hard and be flexible: rapid development cycles and cross-team collaboration
• Bring your ideas; collaborate on product development, not just follow a spec
