Job summary

Alarm.com is building a new Krakow-based team for an Engineer II role focused on backend-leaning full-stack development. You will design scalable backend services and data models, connect cloud software to hardware, and contribute across layers including Ember.js when needed.

The role emphasizes ownership, reliability, and collaboration with product managers and hardware teams. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of software development, strong OO skills, and experience with C#, REST APIs, SQL, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills; experience with C# is a plus.
• Experience developing backend services and HTTP APIs (REST or similar).
• Experience with database design and development (SQL).
• Experience with creating and maintaining unit tests; familiarity with integration testing and CI/CD is a plus.
• Experience working with hardware, IoT, or device development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and data models that power our access control platform.
• Bridge cloud software with hardware by working on device communication, configuration, firmware updates, and real-time event processing.
• Develop features across the full stack, including Ember.js front-end work when required.
• Participate in the full development lifecycle from requirements through deployment and monitoring.
• Work hands-on with real access control hardware to test device integrations.
• Write unit and integration tests and monitor production performance.
