Job summary

Alarm.com Kraków is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (backend-leaning full-stack) to design, develop, and optimize backend services powering our access control platform. You’ll work on cloud APIs, event pipelines, and the hardware communication layer with panels, readers, and locks, while occasionally contributing to Ember.js frontend.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, delivering complex projects.
• Advanced object-oriented programming skills, preferably in C#.
• Strong experience with database design, SQL, and backend services.
• Experience in IoT or home automation is a plus.
• Solid testing strategies including unit and automated testing.
• Experience in distributed systems, real-time communications, or high-performance applications.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and data models.
• Bridge cloud and hardware through device communication layers.
• Contribute across full stack, including Ember.js frontend when needed.
• Lead technical projects end to end and ensure security and performance.
• Mentor Kraków team and raise code quality.
• Own lifecycle from requirements to deployment and production monitoring.
• Hands-on with real access control hardware for integration.
• Collaborate with product managers, hardware engineers, and other software teams.
• Continuously improve through new ideas and technical enhancements.
