Job summary

ALDI Tech Hub in Kraków is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design, implement, and operate scalable services using Node.js and TypeScript in a hybrid work setting.

You will work with cloud native architectures on Azure, collaborate with frontend teams, ensure security and performance, and contribute to production systems used by thousands of users.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating backend services with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience developing software in a large-scale corporate or enterprise environment.
• A track record of delivering and maintaining production systems used by a significant user base.
• Familiarity with modern cloud and platform technologies, including Kubernetes.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native design principles.
• Proficiency with Git-based development workflows and platforms such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, or GitLab.

• Develop and Maintain Backend Logic: Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs.
• Database Management: Design, maintain, and optimize databases for performance and security.
• Integration of User-Facing Elements: Collaborate with front-end teams to connect UI with server logic.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize applications for speed and scalability.
• Security and Data Protection: Implement security measures and ensure data protection compliance.
• Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identify, diagnose, and fix issues in production environments.
• Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
• Implement automated testing and participate in code reviews.

• Develop and Maintain Backend Logic: Design and implement scalable and robust backend services. Develop and maintain APIs and services that will be consumed by front-end and mobile app developers.
• Database Management: Handle the database needs of the applications, including designing, maintaining, and optimizing databases for high performance and security.
• Integration of User-Facing Elements: Work closely with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize the application for maximum speed and scalability.
• Security and Data Protection: Implement security measures to safeguard user data and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
• Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identify, troubleshoot, and debug issues in the production environment.
• Code Quality: Ensure the quality of the code through writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable code.
• Implement automated testing and participate in code reviews.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and operating backend services with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience developing software in a large-scale corporate or enterprise environment.
• A track record of successfully delivering and maintaining production systems used by a significant user base.
• Familiarity with modern cloud and platform technologies, including databases, serverless solutions, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure (or similar) and cloud-native design principles.
• Proficiency with Git-based development workflows and platforms such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, or GitLab.
• A growth mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for building reliable, scalable services.
