Job summary

Luxoft Poland is seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer to join a CASP-focused project in Krakow. You will design, develop and maintain backend services in a microservices environment and deploy cloud-native apps on Microsoft Azure with AKS orchestrations.

Role emphasizes Terraform IaC, Docker-based containerization, and CI/CD pipelines, plus integration using Kafka/IBM MQ/Tibco EMS and database work with Azure SQL, Oracle, or Sybase.

Qualifications

• Strong object-oriented programming with Java 11+
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot/Spring ecosystem
• Hands-on development of Web/REST APIs and message-driven services
• Experience building and running containerized applications
• Strong Azure cloud experience including Terraform IaC
• Kubernetes (AKS) and container orchestration
• Compute and storage solutions on Azure (VMs, Azure Files)
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools integrated into workflows
• Familiarity with GitLab/GitHub, IntelliJ/VSCode

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services in a microservices architecture
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs and message-driven services
• Develop and deploy cloud-native applications on Azure with AKS orchestration
• Use Terraform to define and manage infrastructure as code
• Work with Docker and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab or GitHub)
• Integrations using Kafka, IBM MQ, or Tibco EMS
• Collaborate on system design to ensure scalability and resilience
• Develop and optimize database interactions (Azure SQL, Oracle, Sybase)
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability for production systems
• Utilize Linux/Unix scripting for troubleshooting
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity
