Job summary

Volkswagen Financial Services (Poland) is seeking an experienced Azure Infrastructure / SysOps Engineer to join our Cloud Platform team. You will support operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Azure-based infrastructure services that power critical business applications.

You will work with architects and application teams to ensure stability, security, and performance across Azure and hybrid environments, contribute to automation, migrations, and operational excellence

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in computer science or related field.
• 3+ years in Azure infrastructure administration or cloud operations.
• Hands-on with Microsoft Azure services and monitoring tools.
• Experience with IaC: Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates.
• Hybrid infrastructure experience and ITIL-based operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain Azure infrastructure services for high availability.
• Manage core Azure services: Compute, Storage, Networking, Backup, Monitoring.
• Monitor platform health with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights.
• Respond to incidents, troubleshoot, and coordinate resolutions.
• Perform patching, backups, recovery testing, and DR support.
• Support cloud migrations and modernization across Azure and hybrid infra.
• Contribute to automation and standardization via IaC and scripting.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, and platform teams on improvements.
• Maintain runbooks, docs, and knowledge base articles.
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous service improvement.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and security standards.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Azure Infrastructure / SysOps Engineer to join our Cloud Platform team and support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our Azure-based infrastructure services.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, security, and performance of cloud platform services supporting critical business applications. You will work closely with architects, platform managers, application teams, and service providers to maintain reliable operations across Azure and hybrid infrastructure environments.

As part of the cloud transformation journey, you will contribute to migration initiatives, automation efforts, and operational excellence programs aimed at increasing platform reliability, transparency, and efficiency.

Main Tasks:

• Operate, monitor, and maintain Azure infrastructure services, ensuring high availability and operational stability.
• Manage and support core Azure services, including Compute, Storage, Networking, Backup, and Monitoring solutions.
• Monitor platform health and performance using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and other operational tools.
• Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolution activities to minimize service disruptions.
• Perform patch management, backup verification, recovery testing, and disaster recovery support activities.
• Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives across Azure and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Contribute to infrastructure automation and standardization efforts using Infrastructure as Code and operational scripting tools.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, and platform teams to implement operational improvements and best practices.
• Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
• Participate in root cause analysis activities and drive continuous service improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with operational procedures, security standards, and service management processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in Azure infrastructure administration, cloud operations, or system engineering roles.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Compute, Storage, Networking, Backup, and Monitoring.
• Practical experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and operational monitoring solutions.
• Experience with incident management, problem management, patch management, backup, and disaster recovery processes.
• Basic to intermediate experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure environments integrating cloud and on-premises platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and enterprise infrastructure operations.
• Understanding of ITIL-based service management processes and operational best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Professional proficiency in English and Polish

Preferred:

• Experience with automation and scripting technologies (PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar tools).
• Familiarity with Azure Local and Azure Stack Hub environments.
• Experience working within regulated enterprise environments, preferably in the financial services sector.
