Job summary

Umicore, a global advanced materials and recycling group, invites students or recent graduates to join the Battery Materials Solutions team at the Nysa plant. You will assist in implementing the Shopfloor Platform, perform functional tests, verify interfaces and data flows, and help troubleshoot issues in an industrial setting.

We expect interest in automation and PLC systems, basic Siemens PLC knowledge, and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Student or recent graduate in Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, CS or Electrical Engineering.
• Interest in industrial automation, PLC systems and software testing.
• Analytical mindset and good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support the project team in the Shopfloor Platform implementation at the Nysa plant.
• Perform functional testing of applications and implemented solutions.
• Verify interfaces, data flows and system integrations.
• Document defects in a structured way and report them.
• Assist validation in the OT environment including interfaces and sequences.
• Support activities related to industrial automation and PLC platforms.
• Collaborate with the project team and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues.

Your Responsibilities

• Support the project team in the implementation and integration of the Shopfloor Platform at our Nysa plant.
• Perform functional testing of applications and implemented solutions.
• Verify user interfaces, system integrations and data flows.
• Identify, document and report defects in a structured way.
• Support the validation of solutions within the OT (Operational Technology) environment, including interfaces and system sequences.
• Support activities related to industrial automation and PLC platforms.
• Cooperate closely with the project team and other stakeholders involved in the implementation.
• Support ongoing project activities and help troubleshoot identified issues.

What We’re Looking For

• Student or recent graduate in Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Interest in industrial automation, PLC systems and/or software testing.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs or industrial automation is an advantage, especially Siemens platforms.
• Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and gain hands-on experience in an industrial environment.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Good command of English.
