Job summary

Umicore Group is seeking a student or recent graduate to support the Shopfloor Platform implementation at our Nysa plant, with a focus on functional testing, UI verification, and data flow checks. You will collaborate with the project team to identify defects and assist OT validation.

Ideal candidates have interest in industrial automation, PLC systems, and software testing, with basic PLC knowledge (Siemens a plus) and strong English and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Student or recent graduate in Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, CS, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Interest in industrial automation, PLC systems and software testing.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs or industrial automation, Siemens platforms a plus.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and gain hands-on experience in an industrial environment.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Good command of English.

Responsibilities

• Support the project team in Shopfloor Platform implementation at Nysa plant.
• Perform functional testing of applications and solutions.

Your responsibilities

• Support the project team in the implementation and integration of the Shopfloor Platform at our Nysa plant.
• Perform functional testing of applications and implemented solutions.
• Verify user interfaces, system integrations and data flows.
• Identify, document and report defects in a structured way.
• Support the validation of solutions within the OT (Operational Technology) environment, including interfaces and system sequences.
• Support activities related to industrial automation and PLC platforms.
• Cooperate closely with the project team and other stakeholders involved in the implementation.
• Support ongoing project activities and help troubleshoot identified issues.

What we're looking for

• Student or recent graduate in Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Interest in industrial automation, PLC systems and/or software testing.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs or industrial automation is an advantage, especially Siemens platforms.
• Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and gain hands‑on experience in an industrial environment.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
