AU Contractors is seeking a seasoned Payroll & Bookkeeping Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing for Australian employees and to handle essential bookkeeping duties. You will apply Fair Work Modern Awards, calculate all entitlements, and ensure records are accurate and compliant.

The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong knowledge of Australian payroll practice, and hands-on experience with XERO, Simpro and Airwalex.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Australian payroll and bookkeeping.
• Strong understanding of Fair Work Australia and Modern Awards.
• Experience managing complex payroll requirements at scale.
• Experience with Australian payroll and accounting software.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for Australian employees.
• Apply and interpret relevant Fair Work Modern Awards and employment conditions.
• Ensure accurate calculation of ordinary hours, overtime, allowances, and leave entitlements.
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure compliance with Australian law.
• Process payroll accurately and within required deadlines.
• Perform bookkeeping functions including accounts payable/receivable and reconciliations.
• Stay informed of changes to Australian employment legislation and payroll requirements.
• Work with management to minimize payroll compliance risks.
