Job summary

TMF Group is seeking an Assistant Accounting Manager in Katowice to support a Senior Manager/Manager in delivering services for complex alternative investment fund structures. You will oversee accounting, reporting, and client relations, ensuring timely delivery and audit readiness.

The role involves reviewing financial statements, guiding junior staff, and maintaining compliance with IFRS, UK GAAP, and fund documentation.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree in a relevant discipline or a professional accountancy qualification.
• Knowledge of and experience in fund accounting (Private Equity/Real Estate preferred).
• Extensive experience in financial statement review and preparation.
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Experience operating an investment accounting system (Investran preferred).
• Understanding of alternative investment fund structures and related product knowledge.
• Ability to learn quickly and work in a team under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Review management accounts, financial statements and reports for a portfolio of fund structures, acting as final reviewer.
• Develop and maintain effective client relationships.
• Responsible for all accounting and financial reporting tasks.
• Manage the audit process: plan, liaise with auditors, resolve issues and report status.
• Plan workload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Review the work of junior team members and provide guidance.
• Maintain proactive communication with Senior Accounting Manager/Manager.
• Ensure compliance with fund documentation, policies and regulatory requirements.
• Identify process improvements and assist with staff development.
• May be asked to perform additional ad hoc duties or projects.

The role holder will support the Senior Manager / Manager in managing service delivery for a portfolio of complex alternative investment fund structures administered by TMF.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing management accounts, financial statements and other reports for a portfolio of fund structures. Acting as a final reviewer.
• Developing and maintaining effective relationships with clients.
• Responsible for all aspects of accounting and financial reporting
• Managing the audit process: conducting detailed planning; being a central point of contact for all audit queries; ensuring that issues raised are resolved expediently and all parties are kept informed of the status.
• Planning own workload, prioritising and managing deliverables accordingly.
• Responsible for the management and review of the work performed by more junior members of the team.
• Maintaining pro-active communication to ensure that the Senior Accounting Manager / Manager are kept appraised of status and to allow them to accommodate periods of absence and/or peak demand.
• Demonstrating good attention to detail in all work that is undertaken to ensure the highest level of service is delivered to clients and ensuring that the team produces accounting data accurately, efficiently and within agreed timeframes.
• Assisting with the monitoring and controlling of all incoming communication to ensure that it is directed to an appropriately skilled member of the team.
• Ensuring all work complies with the Fund's documentation, the Company's policies and procedures and any regulatory requirements.
• Seeking process improvements.
• Assisting with the development and training of staff.
• In addition to the duties listed above, the Assistant Accounting Manager may be requested to perform any other ad hoc duties or projects as requested.

Key Requirements

• Hold a Degree in a relevant discipline or a professional accountancy qualification
• Knowledge of and experience in fund accounting (preferably Private Equity / Real Estate but experience of other fund types is acceptable)
• Extensive experience of financial statement review and preparation
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
• Experience in operating an investment accounting system (preferably Investran)
• Have a good understanding of the transactions undertaken by alternative investment fund structures along with broader product and industry knowledge
• Ability to learn quickly and work within a team under the guidance of a manager/mentor
