Discover the Role
Global R2R Lead will be the owner of the finance operations processes within Record-to-Report (EMEA, APAC, Americas). This individual will be responsible for setting KPIs and meeting the anticipated targets by focusing on global process design, process deployment, standardization, automation and optimization of the R2R process across the global Finance function, driving world-class close, reporting, reconciliation, control and financial data quality performance.
The Global R2R Lead will report to the Global RDC Director and collaborate with senior executives within Group Finance, Market Finance Directors, IT, Internal Control, Tax, Treasury, Audit and Finance Operations teams. The role acts as the key link between the RDC leadership team and the R2R operational organization, ensuring alignment between strategic objectives, financial reporting requirements, transformation priorities and operational execution.
In this role, you will be required to work from the TMF Katowice office at least twice a week.
Key Responsibilities
Process Ownership & Governance
- Own and govern the global Record-to-Report (R2R) process landscape
- Define and communicate a clear vision, strategy, governance framework, and roadmap for R2R processes across the TMF operating model
- Establish and maintain global process standards, policies, controls, and operating procedures
- Partner with Group Finance, Market Finance Directors, IT, Tax, Treasury, Internal Control, Audit and other stakeholders to continuously improve close, reporting, reconciliation, compliance and service delivery effectiveness
- Set and oversee the maintenance of R2R process-level master data, including chart of accounts, financial dimensions, calendars, journal names, fixed asset setup, tax-related master data and other global standards
- Collaborate with Internal Control, Compliance, Audit, and SOX teams to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
- Act as the primary escalation point for major operational and process-related issues
Process Transformation & Continuous Improvement
- Lead global R2R transformation initiatives, including close acceleration, process standardization, automation, digitalization, ERP deployment programs and reporting platform improvements
- Drive continuous process improvement through Lean thinking, root cause analysis, elimination of manual journals and non-value-added activities, and adoption of best practices
- Identify, prioritize, and deliver process improvement initiatives, including system implementations and process redesign projects
- Design and maintain the global R2R target operating model, ensuring scalability, efficiency, control, accountability and alignment with market and Group reporting requirements
- Establish process performance baselines and drive measurable improvements in productivity, quality, compliance, cycle times, and stakeholder satisfaction
- Identify automation opportunities leveraging D365, OneStream, workflow tools, Power BI, AI solutions and emerging technologies
- Strengthen the connection between R2R processes, financial statements, statutory and tax filings, disclosures, management reporting and consolidation requirements
- Develop business cases for process improvement, transformation, and investment initiatives
Performance Management
- Define R2R KPIs and SLAs to measure process effectiveness, close discipline, reporting quality, reconciliation timeliness, compliance, data accuracy and stakeholder experience
- Monitor performance against targets and implement corrective actions where necessary
- Leverage data analytics and process metrics to identify close delays, reload drivers, reconciliation gaps, balance sheet risks, reporting issues and improvement opportunities
- Ensure that process performance supports TMF's strategic and operational objectives
Stakeholder Management & Change Leadership
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, accountability and process excellence across the R2R organization
- Lead organizational change initiatives associated with process transformation and system implementations
- Develop and implement communication plans to support stakeholder engagement and change adoption
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to ensure successful implementation of future-state processes
- Line Manager for R2R Managers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), ensuring effective leadership, development, and performance across their teams
- Build and develop high-performing teams by coaching, mentoring, and promoting continuous learning
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and capability building across R2R teams regarding processes, controls, systems, reporting, reconciliations, close discipline and technology
- Support talent acquisition, succession planning, and organizational capability development
Operations & Business Integration
- Ensure effective delivery of R2R services across the organization, including month-end close, general ledger accounting, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, statutory support and management reporting
- Support the development and maintenance of cross-functional, standardized finance processes and reporting structures
- Lead R2R integration activities related to acquisitions, mergers, divestitures, organizational changes and finance transformation programs
- Ensure alignment between R2R processes and broader Finance transformation initiatives, including Dynamics365 optimization, OneStream integration, operating model changes, reporting governance and process automation
- Liaise with internal and external auditors to support finance-related matters, remediation plans, control improvements and compliance with local and global reporting standards
Key Requirements
Education & Professional Experience
- D egree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent are considered an advantage
- Extensive experience in the R2R domain (10+ years) with deep knowledge of end-to-end Record-to-Report processes, including general ledger, month-end close, reconciliations, intercompany, fixed assets, financial reporting and consolidation support
- Experience within Shared Services, Global Business Services (GBS), or multinational organizations
Process Excellence & Transformation
- Extensive experience in process ownership, process design, transformation, governance, and continuous improvement within global P2P environments
- Proven track record of leading large-scale transformation programs involving process standardization, automation, and operating model optimization
- Strong knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or equivalent frameworks
- Demonstrated experience redesigning and implementing global processes across multiple countries and business units
- Experience building and managing global process governance frameworks and performance management structures
- Strong capability to translate business requirements into scalable, efficient, and controlled process solutions
Systems & Technology
- Experience supporting ERP implementations and process redesign initiatives
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is preferred
- Experience with workflow automation, digitalization initiatives, and emerging technologies within finance processes
- Understanding of data governance principles and process analytics
Leadership & Change Management
- Strong people leadership skills with experience managing global and multicultural teams
- Demonstrated experience leading organizations through change and transformation
- Strong stakeholder management capability with experience influencing senior business leaders and cross-functional teams
- Proven project and program management skills with the ability to deliver results in complex and changing environments
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of P2P controls, compliance requirements, and best practices
