Job summary

Strategic Staffing Solution is seeking an Applied AI Research Engineer to support AI/ML projects at a leading global investment firm. You will collaborate on production ML systems, design agentic AI solutions, and develop testable, production-grade code in a challenging financial context.

The role requires a Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field, 5+ years of software/AI experience, hands-on with LLMs, and production experience.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in CS/ML/Math/Stats/Physics/Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of industry software engineering and AI/ML experience.
• 3+ years of AI experience or extensive ML experience.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and agentic AI development.
• Experience developing software for quantitative investment workflows in equities, fixed income, or multi-asset strategies.
• Strong programming in Python; Java or C++ also relevant.
• Experience taking AI/ML solutions into production is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with colleagues to advance production machine-learning systems and applications.
• Work on defined business and technical problems using AI, machine learning, and LLM-based solutions.
• Design, develop, and test agentic systems and multi-agent workflows.
• Conceptualize, experiment with, and assess AI/ML-based software systems.
• Develop, test, and maintain high-quality, production-ready code.
• Take technical ownership of cross-team projects and contribute to key decisions.
• Create libraries and frameworks that support reliable and testable systems.
• Work with LLMs and modern AI models to develop practical solutions for production use.
• Represent the company at conferences and within open-source communities.
